8 Things Your Homepage Should Include
When it comes to the home page, less is more. 80% of people who visit your site will only see the first two screens and spend approximately 11 seconds browsing, so it’s important to give them what they want right from the start.
It’s important to understand that your home page is not a gallery of everything you have and can offer. Your business might have multiple services - however, the sole purpose o the home page is to sell a target action to your ideal client. In a service-based business, that’s usually the exchange of an email address for content or a free consultation sign up. On the homepage, pitch the next logical step in your prospects’ process of getting to know you.

NOW LET’S BREAK IT DOWN A LITTLE MORE:
1. Catchy Intro Headline: What You Do
Start with a short and sweet (1-2 sentences) statement about what you do, or your impact.
2. Your Mission
What is it you do? This could be a manifesto or mission statement. You could leave this at a one sentence statement in a headline form, but you could also elaborate with 3-5 sentences below that introduces the importance of what you offer and validates their desire for such a service.
3. How You Help
List out your primary services/offerings or if you only have one service, highlight the most important pages you want people to visit on your website (including your services page). You can use images to draw attention to each one or if you’re more minimalist, just use a numbered list and describe what they can find when they click the link.
4. Who You Are
Whether you’re introducing yourself as a business owner, or your business as a separate identity, share a little about yourself and invite the viewer to an about page to learn more.
5. How Someone Can Connect with You
If you have a newsletter form (whether just a sign up or an opt-in/ freebie), include that here. Maybe it’s a podcast or some featured blog posts.
6. The Impact of Your Work
It’s so important to build trust, and one great way to do that is to share testimonials from past clients. If you have those, be sure to include a couple on your homepage to encourage the viewer to keep exploring.
7. I’ve Got Your Back
Great for if you’re supporting them doing something they don’t think is possible for them. Use your personality here.
8. Call to Action
Conclude the page with a powerful Call to Action.
